12 The Rhoon ferry connects the towns of Oud-Beijerland, Rhoon and Spijkenisse. In Oud-Beijerland, the ferry even docks at two locations, namely in the town centre and at the Oude Tol. The Rhoon ferry can transport 70 people. This connection over the Spui operates every working day throughout the entire year. In the period from 9 May up until 13 September 2020, it also operates in the weekends and on public holidays. Klein Profijt From the centre, you can also explore the picturesque central area of Oud-Beijerland village, with its many restaurants and shops. You can also walk or cycle to Klein Profijt, an old salmon fishery, and now home to the visitor centre for the Hoeksche Waard Landscape association (HWL). Sitting in the outdoor area of Klein Profijt, you can enjoy a tea or coffee while marvelling at the view across the Spui. The Rhoon ferry also stops at the Oude Tol. The Oude Tol recreation area and the Spui park are now also easily accessible by water. The Oude Tol is especially popular for soaking up the scenery, and enjoying the fine weather and the water, while having a drink. Starting at the Oude Tol, you can either head straight into the Hoeksche Waard, or cross into the Spijkenisse nature and recreation area ‘De Uitwaayer’.
